Description
The government requires a data acquisition system (DAQ) that can capture and analyze ultrasonic signals (UT) and one (1) DAQ that can capture and analyze optical fiber bragg gating (FBG) signals. The DAQs shall be compatible with previously acquired National Instruments (NI) PXI DAQ modules, software, terminals, and sensors. These signatures allow the government to understand the structural state of metallics and composites, and identify damage precursors such as micro cracking, fiber breakage, matrix cracking, etc. To maximize usage and minimize total cost to the Army, the DAQ systems shall also be compatible with acquired NI PXI DAQ modules, software, terminals, and sensors that is currently used by the government. The UT DAQ shall be capable of a 3 GB/s system bandwidth and 1 GB/s per UT receiver module. The processor for the controller shall be a 64-bit Windows compatible 8 GB (1 x 8 GB DIMM), triple-channel 1866 MHz DDR4 RAM standard processor with USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, DisplayPort, GPIB and SMB trigger capabilities. Finally the system shall have UT receiver module capable of sampling four (4) channels at 2.5 G-samples/s. The FBG DAQ shall be capable of an 8Gb/s system bandwidth and 2 GB/s per FBG module. The processor for the controller shall be a 64-bit Windows compatible 8 GB (1 x 8 GB DIMM), triple-channel 1866 MHz DDR4 RAM standard processor with USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, DisplayPort, GPIB and SMB trigger capabilities. The system shall have FBG module and shall have four (4) optical channels capable of 10 Hz full spectrum scan frequency in the 1510 to 1590 nm wavelength range. The system shall support nonconductive, electrically passive FBG sensors that are immune to EM.
