Description
Cyber Virtual Industry Day Registration Form This Special Notice is for the purpose of announcing that Program Executive Office, Ships intends to conduct a Virtual Industry Day event for prospective Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Integrators of computing, controls and networking equipment. Background: Cybersecurity has become a leading priority for the Department of Defense (DoD). As a result, the Navy is in the process of adopting and implementing cybersecurity standards across its operations, affecting shipboard operations and equipment. Many of these cybersecurity standards will drive new functional requirements of ship systems in order to support cyber safe operations. Recognizing the potential impact of cyber requirements to the Navy supply base, PEO Ships is engaging Navy OEMs and Integrators of computing, controls and networking equipment via a Virtual Industry Day. The Virtual Industry Day is designed to provide interested parties a preview of Navy cybersecurity requirements in order to facilitate a positive, effective and more efficient procurement environment. Virtual Industry Day Information: The Virtual Industry Day consists of two parts, an online survey and a teleconference to include an open Q&A session. The online survey will launch to registered participants on July 11, 2016, and the teleconference will follow shortly after. The online survey will provide an opportunity for industry partners to communicate to the Navy their familiarity, preparedness, and cost implications of future cyber requirements. The survey is voluntary and all information provided in responses will be held anonymous. Only registered companies will receive a unique link to participate in the survey through the email provided during registration. This unique link will track if the company completed or did not complete the survey. The responses provided in the survey will remain anonymous. Companies using this link will be considered "confirmed participants." An alternate survey link will be provided for companies that do not wish to track completion. Results of the survey will be aggregated, further sanitized and distributed to confirmed participants only. The Virtual Industry Day and Q&A session, held via teleconference, will allow the Navy to communicate the upcoming cybersecurity standards and requirements, and discuss the potential impact with suppliers. Industry will have the opportunity to ask questions about the standards and the survey. This event will take place shortly after the survey is launched. A meeting invite will be sent to participants upon registration. In addition, participants may request individual 15 minute Q&A sessions during registration. Registration: This event is only open to United States citizens. A United States citizen is defined as a person that is a natural-born citizen within the United States or a person that was admitted lawfully into the United States for permanent residence. The registration form is attached to this announcement. Attendees must include a copy of a valid DD Form 2345 (Military Critical Technical Data Agreement) with their registration submission.
