- PLEASE SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENT, NO QUOTES ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME. Source Sought Notice: The 42d Contracting Squadron, Maxwell AFB, AL is seeking sources from industry to assist in finalizing the acquisition strategy for the purchase of Dormitory Mattresses and Box Springs. The Government is seeking qualified, experienced sources interested in providing the items identified in the attached Statement of Requirements (SOR). The table below identifies the Governments requirement: Item No. Description of Requirement Quantity 0001 The contractor shall provide Firm Extra Long (XL) twin mattresses in accordance with Statement of Requirements (SOR) paragraph 2.1.1.1- 2.1.1.6.. 60 ea 0002 Firm XL Full mattresses IAW Statement of Requirements (SOR) paragraph 2.1.2.1 - 2.1.2.6. 119 ea 0003 The contractor shall provide Firm Extra Long (XL) twin box springs IAW SOR paragraph 2.2.1.1 - 2.2.1.4. 60 ea 0004 The contractor shall provide Firm XL Full box springs IAW Statement of Requirements (SOR) paragraph 2.2.2.1 - 2.2.2.4. 119 ea 0005 The contractor shall provide installation of the mattresses and box springs in accordance with SOR paragraphs 2.3 - 3.0. 1 ea NOTES OF IMPORTANCE: •1. A solicitation does not exist for this requirement. This is only a sources sought notice, so please do not submit proposals. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice •2. If the government decides to pursue a solicitation, portions of your sources sought notice response may be incorporated into the final solicitation. Respondents are discouraged from submitting any information deemed competition-sensitive or proprietary. •3. Respondents will not be reimbursed for any costs incurred in responding to this notice. Information submitted will not be returned to the respective respondents. •4. Oral submissions of information will not be considered in response to this notice To assist the Government in developing a potential acquisition strategy, please provide the following information: •1. GENERAL INFORMATION : •a. Company's full name, business size, address, point of contact and telephone number. 2. CAPABILITIES: Please address the following regarding your capabilities in meeting the requirements contained in the attached "draft" SOR: a. Does your company provide Firm Extra-Long (XL)Twin Mattresses, Firm XL Full mattresses, Firm XL twin box Springs and Firm XL Full box springs as specified in the SOR? Please answer yes or no, if your company is capable of fulfilling this requirement. b. If your company can meet this requirement please provide a yes or no response, to the following questions in regards to the non-manufacturer rule: i. Please provide the socioeconomic status of your business? ii. If your company is a small business will your company manufacturer the items? Please answer Yes or No. iii. If your company is a small business and does not manufacturer the required items will your company purchase the required items from a small business manufacturer? Please answer Yes or No. e. Project Milestone Plan (PMP). As a part of this RFI, the Government would like to obtain the standard lead time for the delivery and installation of the products contained in the table above and the attached SOR. Please provide the specified time period it will take your company to deliver and install the required items. All responses shall be received no later than 4 pm CST on Friday, July 8, 2016. Attachment (1): Statement of Requirements Dorm Furnishing Mattresses 1.0 INTRODUCTION. Maxwell AFB, AL requires the purchase and installation Firm Extra-Long (XL)Twin Mattresses, Firm XL Full mattresses, Firm Extra Long (XL) twin box S prings and Firm XL Full box springs for the Pipeline Student Training School and Maxwell Fire departments. The mattresses and box springs will be delivered and install in enlisted dorms, in the locations specified in Appendix A. 2.0 DESCRIPTION OF ITEMS. The following items are required for performance under this contract. 2.1 Mattresses: The contractor shall provide 60 firm XL twin mattresses and 119 Full Firm Extra long XL matresses that meet specifications in sections 2.1.1 - 2.1.2.6. 2.1.1. The contractor shall provide 60 firm XL Twin firm mattress that meets the following minimum requirements: 2.1.1.1. Dimensions: 38W x 80L x 11D 2.1.1.2. 280 coil count 2.1.1.3. 13 gauge tempered steel spring wire 2.1.1.4. 6 gauge boarder wire 2.1.1.5. Mattress covers must be quilted polyester and finished on both sides. 2.1.1.6. "1" thick thermally bonded fire barrier that passes 16 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 1633 2.1.2 The contractor shall provide 119 Firm XL Full firm mattress that meets the following minimum requirements: 2.1.2.1. Dimensions: 54W x 80L x 11D 2.1.2.2. 392 coil count 2.1.2.3. 13 gauge tempered steel spring wire 2.1.2.4. 6 gauge boarder wire. 2.1.2.5. Mattress covers must be quilted polyester and finished on both sides. 2.1.2.6. "1" thick thermally bonded fire barrier that passes 16 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 1633 2.2 Box Springs: The contractor shall provide 60 firm XL twin Box springs and 119 Full Firm Extra long XL boxsprings that meet specifications in sections 2.2.1 - 2.1.4. 2.2.1. The contractor shall provide 60 XL Twin Box springs that meets the following minimum requirements: 2.2.1.1. Dimensions: 38W x 80L x 11D 2.2.1.2. Spruce or Pine wood slats 2.2.1.3. Reinforced cotton corners. 2.2.1.4. Box spring cover must be polyester knitted blend tacking cover that matches the Mattress fabric and has a bottom dust cover with plastic corner guards on each corner 2.2.2.The contractor shall provide 119 Full firm Box springs that meets the following minimum requirements: 2.2.2.1. Dimensions: 54W x 80L x 11D. 2.2.2.2. Spruce or Pine wood slats 2.2.2.3. Reinforced cotton corners. 2.2.2.4. Box spring cover must be polyester knitted blend tacking cover that matches the Mattress fabric and has a bottom dust cover with plastic corner guards on each corner 2.3 INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS : 2.3.1. The contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor to deliver and install all of the mattresses and box springs. The contractor shall complete delivery and installation of the mattresses and boxsprings free of any defects. The delivery of the mattresses is subject to acceptance by the Government. The Contracting Officer reserves the right to accept or reject the mattresses. If the mattresses are not accepted the contractor may be responsible for replacement or repair of any mattress deem damaged by the Contracting Officer at no additional cost to the Government. 2.3.2. The contractor shall remove and dispose all mattresses, box springs, packing materials and debris associated with delivery and installation of the mattresses and box springs in dumpsters provided by the contractor. General clean-up of material, packaging and debris will be conducted during job progress (at the end of each day at a minimum) to minimize unacceptable appearance of the job site. 2.3.3. All rooms will be occupied with old mattresses and box springs and the contractor shall be responsible for the removal of the old mattresses. The contractor shall be responsible for same day rreplacement of mattresses and box spring removed bythe end of the work day with a new mattress and box spring. 2.3.4. The contractor shall be responsible for disposing of all old mattresses and box springs 3.0. DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: The contractor shall propose a realistic delivery date for meeting the requirements identified in this solicitation. The delivery date shall take into consideration availability, ordering, shipping, installation and any other factors that may affect the delivery of the items proposed under this solicitation. The contract completion date shall be expressed in terms of days after contract award. If the contractor fails to meet its proposed delivery date the contract maybe subject to provide the Government with equitable consideration for not meeting the proposed delivery date. 4.0. WARRANTY: The contractor shall provide any OEM pass through warranty and standard commercial warranties applicable to the products being purchased at no cost and provide the Government with a copy of the warranty prior to contract award. 5.0 GENERAL INFORMATION: Items must be brand new. Refurbished items are not authorized.
