- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the development of micro-wells in glass matrix wafers. This will contribute to the further development of the Silicon Micro-Well Detector (SiMWD) leading to fabrication of a prototype of the Advanced Energetic Pair Telescope (AdEPT). Requirement: Item 1: Develop a process to fabricate bottom and top wafers including grinding, polishing, sputtering, measuring correction gravitation, developing, etching, aligning and room-temperature bonding. Item 2. 3x photomasks required: top plate patterning, bottom plate patterning and small masks to clear holes. Item 3: Perform laser fixture set-up, laser programming and scribing Item 4: Deliver 4 x detector arrays, per customer specification NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Invenios, pursuant to FAR 13.106, for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available from only one source. Invenios is able to provide a unique product unavailable from any other vendor that is ideally suited to the fabrication of 2-D Si-MWDs. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. local time on July 13, 2016. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
