- Description This is a Sources Sought announcement. There is no RFQ available at this time. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration has a requirement for an annual equipment maintenance contract to support the Astrophysics Security X-Ray Inspection System (Model PXM, Serial # PX2767) at the Milwaukee Regional Office, 5400 W. National Avenue, Milwaukee, WI. 53214. The Contractor shall furnish the following in order to support the Astrophysics Security X-Ray Inspection System for the VA Regional Office, Milwaukee Wisconsin, for one (1) year base period and four (4) one-year option periods, which shall be exercised at the Government's discretion. "All necessary repair parts and freight related expenses. "Regular (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm) labor hours for remedial maintenance. "Regular (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm) travel time to and from the equipment site. "Lodging, Airfare and Per Diem expenses as required per scope of repairs. "One annual preventative maintenance inspection per x-ray system "One annual radiation safety survey and preparation of performance report per x-ray system Annual Preventative Maintenance for X-Ray Inspection System includes the following procedures during the annual contract period: VISUAL AND MECHANICAL:ELECTRONIC: Vacuum system interior and exteriorAdjust x-ray tube voltage and current Inspect conveyor rollersTest operator control panel functions Inspect condition of conveyor belt and lacingAdjust monitors Adjust conveyor belt tension and trackingInspect conveyor relays Inspect condition of x-ray sensor dust shieldsAdjust power supply voltages Inspect for x-ray generator oil leakageCollimate x-ray beam Align and clean optical sense modulesVerify x-ray image quality & resolution Test indicator lamps for proper operation OPERATIONAL SAFETY:RADIATION SAFETY: Inspect AC line cord for damage and test forMeasure radiation dose per inspection proper grounding (annual), test all safety interlocks for proper operation Inspect finger guards and/or pop-out rollers forMeasure external radiation emissions damage (annual) Verify conveyor under panels are securelyTest all "x-ray on" indicators for proper attached operation Test emergency stop switchesInspect condition of lead curtains Inspect operator footmat for condition and test for proper operation Preparation of FAA Form 1650-17. Any interested and qualified sources are requested to provide a brief capabilities statement and a letter of interest to the contracting officer Eural Bennett via email to eural.bennett1@va.gov. As part of your capability statement please include any current or past contracts you have been awarded or the ability to obtain sufficient proof of capability for this type of contract. In addition include what socio-economic category your company qualifies as (i.e Small Business, SBA Certified HUB Zone Firm, SBA Certified Small Disadvantaged Business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Veteran Owned Business, and Woman Owned Business). Any information provided is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response to this Sources Sought Notice.
