This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii)The solicitation number is: VA259-16-Q-0372, and it is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). Salient Characteristics: "The Platform-Based Lateral Turn- this feature involves less effort increasing safety and efficiency for nursing staff and patient. "The Hercules Patient Repositioner, a patented system that allows a single caregiver to safely and easily move patients weighing up to 500 pounds up in bed with a touch of a button providing increased comfort for the patient and safety for the staff. "Lateral Tilt-allowing for better oxygenation, preventing lung complications through airway hygiene. Lateral Tilt function also provides mechanical assist for turning patients allowing the patient to be turned routinely. This feature allows the bed to rotate using a steady mechanical turn for the patient. "Orthopnoeic chair position features allows for the patient to be positioned maximizing respiratory function and comfort. "The I-Brake intelligent brake system automatically activates to prevent unintended patient motion, and its fifth wheel I-Drive mechanism engages automatically. The I-Brake system which activates the brake automatically if bed is left unbraked, avoiding falls. "The multi zone bed alarm may be used to indicate patient movement from the bed; this feature also is beneficial in preventing patient falls. "The Linet bed frame allows for flexibility in choosing a surface product based on patient need. This allows choice in mattress or surface use to prevent or heal pressure ulcers based on patient need. "Bilateral tilt/turn feature eases the routine re-positioning of the patient providing effective pressure relief. "Automatic integrated bed scales for weighing the patient. "The integrated X-ray and C-arm scanning feature allowing for the patient to be x-rayed while remaining on this bed. "The I-drive automatic 5th wheel providing more maneuverability and ease of staff push in moving patients on these beds. "Pro-active Mobi-Lift features allow for a mechanical lift and stabilization when patients are being assisted out of bed to standing position. Again, this feature provides increased safety and comfort for the patient when moving to a standing position while incorporating safety for nursing staff in reducing the need for pulling or holding the patient. "Motorized ability to lengthen or shorten the bed depending on need (height) of patient. "This bed frame comes with a 5 year warranty on parts and 2 year warranty for labor at no additional cost. "The surfaces/mattresses also come with a 5 year warranty, no additional cost. (vi)Description of requirements for the items to be acquired: The VA Montana Health Care System is in need of specialized beds for the ICU.
