Description
THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND IS BEING USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF MARKET ANALYSIS ONLY. This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions and FAR 10.001(a)(2)(ii) which requires conducting market research before soliciting offers for acquisitions with an estimated value in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold. The Government is seeking industrys' input to determine the availability of qualified sources with the technical capability to perform the requirement. The Contractor shall provide all management, personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform refurbishment of Brake/Clutch Carrier, Shuttle Valve, Brake Keys for Aircraft Arresting Systems (AAS) and Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS) equipment. Government Depot Facility is located on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER), Anchorage Alaska. Specific Tasks. Each brake carrier and clutch carrier shall be cleaned free of contaminants and corrosion, inspected according to T.O. 35E8-2-5-3, 17 Jun 2011, change 1, 30 Aug 2012, chapter 5, paragraph 5.18.16, page 5-5. Cylinder bores resurfaces to 16 micron finish and if cylinder bore tolerance exceeds maximum diameter the bore shall be bored out and re sleeved according to stated Technical order requirements. The brake carriers and clutch carriers shall be resurfaced with corrosion resistant 0.0003 cadmium. Shuttle valve assemblies shall be cleaned, and inspected for worn, defective parts, replacement of any rubber disks and any worn parts beyond manufacture's tolerances. The Brake keys and clutch keys shall be cleaned of foreign material and corrosion, inspected for minimum manufactures tolerances and re surfaced with corrosion resistant 0.0003 cadmium. Basic Services. The Contractor shall provide services for cleaning, resurfacing of brake carrier, clutch carrier, and brake and clutch keys. Specific Tasks. Clean brake carrier for foreign material and corrosion. Inspect brake carrier according to T.O. 35E8-2-5-3, 17 Jun 2011, change 1, 30 Aug 2012, chapter 5, paragraph 5.18.16a-f, page 5-5. Brake carrier cylinder bores that do meet T.O. 35E8-2-5-3, 17 Jun 2011, change 1, 30 Aug 2012, chapter 5, paragraph 5.18.16d, e, page 5-5. Shall be bored and re-sleeved according to paragraph 5.18.16 g(1) thru (8). Brake carrier shall be resurfaced with corrosion resistant 0.0003 cadmium, but protecting the cylinder bores from cadmium plating. Clean clutch carrier for foreign material and corrosion. Inspect clutch carrier according to T.O. 35E8-2-5-3, 17 Jun 2011, change 1, 30 Aug 2012, chapter 5, paragraph 5.18.16a-f, page 5-5. Clutch carrier cylinder bores that do meet T.O. 35E8-2-5-3, 17 Jun 2011, change 1, 30 Aug 2012, chapter 5, paragraph 5.18.16d, e, page 5-5. Shall be bored and re-sleeved according to paragraph 5.18.16 g(1) thru (8). Clutch carrier shall be resurfaced with corrosion resistant 0.0003 cadmium, but protecting the cylinder bores from cadmium plating. Clean shuttle valve assembly of foreign material. Disassemble shuttle valve assembly and inspect components, measure component to manufactures specifications. Replace rubber disks replace any worn parts beyond manufacture's tolerances. Clean clutch keys for foreign material and any corrosion Inspect clutch keys according to manufactures specifications. Resurface clutch keys with 0.0003 cadmium.
