Description

Special Notice - Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 17, Network Contracting Office 17, intends to award a firm-fixed priced contract to Smith & Nephew, Inc. for procurement of the following services: Line Item 0001 - TRIGEN Base Instrument Set (QTY: 1, Unit: EA, MFR #71674012) Line Item 0002 - TRIGEN REAMER SET (QTY: 1, Unit: EA, MFR #71671212) Line Item 0003 - TRIGEN META-Nail Instrument Set (QTY: 1, Unit: EA, MFR #71654002) Line Item 0004 - INTERTAN GOLD INSTRUMENT SET (QTY: 1, Unit: EA, MFR #71674026) The proposed sole source procurement is being made via Open Market methodology with Smith & Nephew, Inc. This notice is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice; however, any offers received may be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received within 3 days from the publication of this notice, an order will be issued to Smith & Nephew, Inc. without further notice. The anticipated statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition for the requirement is 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 - Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Notice: the POC for this notice does not have a Federal Business Opportunities registration account. The POC does not have any visibility to the "Interested Vendors List" tab within the notice.
