- Description
- Respondents are asked to use this form to provide contact information and describe the products or technologies that help to secure the mobile ecosystem and to indicate the specific threats the product is designed to address. Request for Information document in its entirety. This RFI is intended to afford the mobile and cellular/Wi-Fi industry and mobile security researchers the opportunity to identify their technical capabilities (current and/or future) to address risks posed by the Federal Government's use of mobile technologies as described in Section II of this RFI and any standards that should be developed or adapted to support enterprise mobile security implementation (including networks and services supporting emergency communications, priority services, alerting, etc.) from the Government's perspective. The Government is soliciting input on products, services, capabilities and technologies that address threats related to the Government's use of mobile devices and services. Responses will be used for the congressionally required study and will help the Government understand the range of products and technologies available to protect the mobile ecosystem. It will also help the Government to identify gaps-areas that provide opportunities for industry, government and academic researchers to collaborate on advancing technologies and/or standards. We also are requesting respondents to identify considerations, constraints and recommendations (including industry standards and best practices) the Government should consider for its assessment of threats and available mitigations. This RFI is issued solely for market research, information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This RFI does not in any way imply a planned or pending procurement action by the United States Government. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of a solicitation. Responses to this RFI will not constitute an offer and shall not be accepted as the basis for forming a binding contract. The Government is not seeking proposals at this time and will not accept unsolicited proposals in response to this RFI. The Government will not reimburse any respondent for any costs associated with information submitted in response to this RFI. **NOTE: The full text of this RFI is contained within the attachment as well as a survey to be completed and submitted along with the RFI.
