- Description
- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The Government intends to award a fixed price purchase order to AccuFlow Systems, Chantilly, VA 20153. The Department of Transfusion (DTM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center (CC), Bethesda, MD has a requirement to procure the supplies listed below: Description:Accuflow Vante RF Sealer with Hand Held Sealing Head, 110V Part Number:AFS-4600/4105 Quantity:5 Unit of Issue:ea Description:Accuflow Vante Hand Held Sealing Head Part Number:AFS-4105 Quantity:5 Unit of Issue:ea The Cell Processing Section (CPS) is responsible for the manufacture of human cells and tissue based products utilized in phase I/II clinical protocols for transplantation, adoptive immunotherapy and gene therapy conducted in the Clinical Center at the NIH. Cell processing procedures are tailored to each of the 30 or more different patient-care clinical research protocols supported. CPS manufactured cellular therapy products from more than 800 collections from patients or healthy donors per year. The products manufactured by the laboratory are used to treat NIH CC patients with cancer, hematological malignancies, marrow failure, genetic immune disorders and autoimmune diseases. The tube sealer allows for the sterile cut and seal off the tubing set on the blood transfer bag which guarantees the sterility and safety of the blood/blood products. CPS would like to purchase Vante tube sealer so it's compatible with our current tube sealer. The parts for the tube sealer are compatible and exchangeable with the existing sealer throughout the lab. Without tube sealer, there's no other sterile way to cut and seal off the tubing, it would risk of contamination to patient products. This tube sealer has record of demonstrated years of flawless performance in the Cell Processing Laboratory it allows for the sterile cut and sealing off the tubing set on the blood transfer bag which guarantees the sterility and safety of the blood and interchangeable with our approximately (20) Vante existing tube sealers throughout the lab. Change to another tube sealer would require retraining staff, validation of a new tube sealers against the manufacturer's specification and revision and approval of the SOP, which all take months to accomplish
