The purpose of this amendment is to: 1) Extend the close date of the amended RFQ from 07/15/2016 to 07/22/2016, by 1500 EST. Any prospective bidder desiring an explanation or interpretation of the solicitation must request it via e-mail to the Contract Specialist: Christopher Brailer (christopher.brailer@va.gov) No Later Than: close of business by 07/18/2016. 2) Answer the following RFIs from potential contractors as of 07/08/2016: a)Is there a site visit with the engineers present to explain more of what the requirement consist of? Interested vendors should contact Chris Brailer at 352 381 5730 or by e-mail at Christopher.brailer@va.gov to arrange a time. b)Why is sprinkler system commissioning required from someone other than the contractor who installed the system? Per specs, a third party Commissioning Agent is required verify the adequacy and completeness of the work done by the main contractor. c)The drawings attached to the solicitation (document: 95_BASIS OF DESIGN SUBMISSION) seem to be missing the last page. Drawing #FP0 (sheet 10 of 10, sixth floor). Sixth floor is the roof. d)The document below is not applicable to fire sprinkler system commissioning. Is this correct? The specs explain the role of the commissioning agent. Those areas that reference construction or installation are not part of this procurement and are there only for informational purposes. e)Is the project ongoing or complete? What is the overall project schedule and duration? Where is the project at in the schedule? This project is 10% complete. Completion date is 11/04/2017. f)Has design of the sprinkler systems started and are any other trades affected? Design is completed. g)Has construction/renovation begun under this scope? Yes, under construction. h)Is the commissioning company going to be providing on-site representation for the duration of the project to attend meetings, observe workmanship, etc.? Yes. i)For areas designated to have work performed under a separate contract, will there be a commissioning component that needs to be incorporated into this scope? Only on this contract. j)Are the areas being commissioned occupied or unoccupied? Both, occupied and unoccupied.
