- THIS IS A PRESOLICITATION NOTICE BEING RELEASED PURSUANT TO FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION (FAR) PART 36.213-2 PRESOLICITATION NOTICES. This Presolicitation Notice is issued solely for informational, market research, and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This Presolicitation Notice does not commit the Government to a binding contract. Further, the Government is not at this time seeking proposals, and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this Presolicitation Notice. All costs associated with responding to this Presolicitation Notice will be solely at the responding party's expense. Not responding to this Presolicitation Notice does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Project Description: The Government plans to post the solicitation package and may make an award. A site visit is planned for this project between August 8th, 2016 and August 15th, 2016. The project is located on the West Fork Ranger District of the Bitterroot National Forest, Ravalli County, Montana. The project is located at West Fork Ranger Station, approximately 36 miles south of Hamilton, MT, just off the West Fork Rd. Darby is the largest town close to the site, and is 20 miles northeast This project is for the replacement of the west work water system. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies (other than for those listed as Government-furnished items) and supervision necessary to complete the work according to the contract. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Demolition: all existing electrical and plumbing equipment inside the existing pump house building, including removal of existing pump and drop pipe, and existing float system in the water storage tank. 2. Installation of new plumbing and electrical equipment in pump house, including new pump and drop pipe in existing well. 3. Installation of water supply line from existing pump house to existing water storage tank. Includes new tank entrance, and replacement of shut-off valve on overflow/drain line. Also includes installation of new control wires from water storage tank to pump house. 4. Drain and abandon existing water supply line as shown on drawings. Abandoned lines that conflict with proposed construction shall be removed as required. Abandoned lines not removed shall be capped at all open ends. 5. Includes clearing & grubbing, erosion control, and grading and seeding of all disturbed areas. In addition, two option items may be included to include the following work: Option 1 1. Demolition: existing plumbing, pump, and pressure tank in laundry building; existing fire fill station; existing water hydrant near tree cooler; and existing manhole south of office. See drawing sheets D-2 and D-3. 2. Installation of new water distribution system from water storage tank to all facilities, excluding House #1025. Includes gate valves, curb stop valves and combination air-vac valve. Also includes installation of pressure relief valves inside houses #1012, #1015, and the tree cooler. 3. Installation of new booster pump system in existing laundry house. 4. Installation of new fire fill hydrant. 5. Installation of new frost free hydrant near tree cooler. 6. Drain and abandon existing water distribution lines as shown on drawings. Abandoned mains and service lines that conflict with proposed construction shall be removed as required. Abandoned mains not removed shall be capped at all open ends. 7. Includes clearing & grubbing, erosion control, and grading and seeding of all disturbed areas. Option 2 1. Install new water service line from tee in new 4" distribution line to House #1025. This line shall be placed in the same trench as the new water supply line from the pump house to the water storage tank. This lines shall have a curb stop valve installed to allow isolation of the line. This installation will also require a pressure reducing valve at the service connection to the house. As stated above, funds are not currently available for this project and by placing a notice in Federal Business Opportunities; it does not commit the Government in making an award on this project. It is estimated the solicitation package will be available approximately on August 1, 2016 and should be downloaded from this website at that time. No hard copies will be mailed out. Please check the website for amendments issued on this project. The work is estimated to begin September 30, 2016 and completed by November 30, 2016 which is approximately 60 calendar days.
