HOWEVER, the roof is the project; it is permissible to stand and look at it, and take notes and pictures. The US Marshal Service is aware of this situation; it might be a good idea to take a copy of this amendment with you. These are answers and questions on the project so far: 1) Is the intent to only remove the portions of the roof required to facilitate the structural repair of the beam and AHU removal/replacement? ANSWER: The entire roof is to be replaced. There is to be a design associated with the structural issue as well as the a design that will incorporate the historical as specs of the roofing system. The clay tiles are to be re-utilized replacement clay titles are to match the existing as close as possible. 2) With regards to the tuckpointing and joint sealant work at exterior stone- Is the intent to clean all stone surfaces, or only what is required for tuckpointing? Also, the bottom stone around the perimeter of the building appears to have some sort of cementitious coating on it that is failing in many locations. Is removal of this coating to be considered as part of the scope? ANSWER: Yes it's the intent to clean all stone surfaces. I don't think it's a contentious coating but it will need to cleaned and to be repaired as needed. 3) Please verify that there is no planned work on the sheet metal gutters and downspouts. ANSWER: No known issues with gutter and down spouts and are not part of the scope of work. 4) Please verify that there is no scope of work for the metal clad add on section. ANSWER: No the back dock / small metal clad proportion isn't part of the scope of work. 5) Item 8.3.2.6 of the scope of work-Please verify that the intent is to repair/replace any rotted or deteriorated wood on the soffit and repaint the soffit in its entirety. ANSWER: That is the intent is to repair/replace any rotted or deteriorated wood on the soffit and repaint the soffit in its entirety. 6) The 1905 plans show windows at the dormer in the attic. From viewing the attic interior, it appears that this dormer is now used for fresh air intakes. Please verify that there is no window or exterior work at the dormer. ANSWER: No windows are to be installed in the dormer. 7) Is there any work to be performed on the basement windows, or do these remain as is? ANSWER: No the basement windows are not part of the scope of work.
