Description
The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Government intends to solicit for the repair of the following items in support of the AN/AAQ-29 and AN-AAQ-27 Forward-Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR) Systems: NSN NOM Part # 1680-01-535-3463 FLIR 6380600-103 5998-01-566-8891 ELECTRONIC COMPONENT6376300-112 5980-01-435-2608 CONTROL-DISPLAY3897090-110 5855-01-435-1582 CONTROL, INFRARED3897080-112 7025-01-435-1579 DISPLAY UNIT3897003-112 5855-01-435-1578 ELECTRONIC UNIT3897060-112 5855-01-523-0653 IMAGE INTENSIFIER6384290-120 5963-01-598-3589 SYSTEM ELECT UNIT6442100-120 The above parts require engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to maintain the quality of the parts. Existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge by the qualified source(s) require acquisition of the part from the approved source(s). The approved source(s) retain data rights, manufacturing knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government, and the data or knowledge is essential to maintaining the quality of the part. An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity ™s procedures, as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. The qualification procedures must be approved by the Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the part in the intended application. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to the Free Trade Agreements Act and/or the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements. All responsible sources may identify their interest and provide capability statements in response to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this sources sought notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Source Approval is required. The time required for approval of a new source is normally such that an award cannot be delayed pending approval of a new source. If you are not an approved source you must submit, together with your proposal, the information detailed in the NAVSUP-WSS Source Approval Information Brochure for Repair.
