Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for replacement refrigeration units (RUs) that will be integrated with its current fleet of Small Field Refrigeration Systems (SFRSs), NSN 4130-01-565-7655, Model SB531.0, which are manufactured by SEA BOX, Inc. The SFRS has been fielded to Marine Corps units throughout the globe to support Marine Corps Field Food Service Systems and Mortuary Affairs. The RU can be operated to either refrigerate or freeze perishable items and provides refrigeration, freezing, and heating capabilities. Electric power is externally provided. The currently fielded SFRS is comprised of a Thermo King VM-405 PBBD2 RU that is integrated into a SEA BOX manufactured 8’x8’x6.5’ TRICON insulated container that can be interlocked to meet ISO Standards.
