Description
I. SUMMARY The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, in support of the Naval Sea Systems Command, announces an Industry Information Day for the Large Displacement Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (LDUUV) Program of Record and Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) Rapid Prototyping. The Industry Information Day will be held on August 30, 2016 and is planned to be a partial-day event. The objective is to provide a presentation to the industry community to better understand the Navy's way forward to support LDUUV prototyping efforts, and initiatives for UUV prototyping. The meeting will be held at the UNCLASSIFIED level. II. DATE, LOCATION, AGENDA, REGISTRATION, LOGISTICS WHEN: August 30, 2016, 0800-1300 EDT Check-in begins at 0715 and the first presentation starts at 0800. WHERE: The event will be held at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, located in Newport, RI, in Building 80 (Gymnasium) (Additional Information, including Maps/Directions can be found at: http://www.navsea.navy.mil/Home/Warfare-Centers/NUWC-Newport/Contact-Us/) WHAT: This Industry Information Day is part of a critical exchange of information between Government and Industry. It is a step in a process aimed at providing industry information on the LDUUV prototyping efforts and initiatives for UUV prototyping as well as gain feedback from industry on the overall prototyping approach. The Government will use this event as part of the market research process for additional initiatives for UUV prototyping, and may use any questions or other information provided by industry to finalize their acquisition approach for the UUV initiatives. The Industry Information Day staff will distribute blank cards during the meeting for interested parties to submit questions to the Government. The staff will review the questions and provide answers during the Q&A period, if feasible, or at a later date provide the answers in a Q&A document posted to Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov). Please note that due to space limitations, each company is limited to three attendees per CAGE code. HOW: Pre-registration for the Industry Information Day is mandatory. Pre-registration ends Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Parties interested in attending the event must submit an e-mail to registration coordinator, Mr. Jeremy Russell, jeremy.russell@navy.mil, with copy to Mr. Joshua Stone, joshua.w.stone@navy.mil in the following format: Subject: LDUUV & UUV Rapid Prototyping Industry Information Day Attendance 1. The security officer for each attendee must submit an unclassified Visit Authorization Request (VAR) via Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) to Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, RI, using SMO Code 666045. POC is Jeremy Russell, email is jeremy.russell@navy.mil and phone number is 401-832-7133. Upon receipt of the attendee registration and matching VAR, NUWC Division Newport will verify credentials, and will send an acknowledgement to the primary POC for each company verifying that their attendees are approved for the meeting. Late registration and "walk-in" requests will not be permitted. No one will be permitted without preregistration and VAR on file. III. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Lunch will NOT be provided. This announcement is not a contract, a request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind on the part of the Government. The Navy will not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee for travel expenses or marketing efforts; therefore, attendee cost in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct charge to the Government.
