Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a requirement for saw cutting floating mooring bit for concrete removal at New Cumberland Locks and Dam, Ohio S.R. 7, P.O. Box 159, Stratton, OH 43961-0159. The general description of the work is as follows: Wire saw cutting and core drilling concrete and embedded items for the installation of four floating mooring bitt anchorage extensions in the 110-ft. x 600-ft. Auxiliary (land) lock chamber. The wire sawing will be from the top of the middle wall monoliths down 5'-2". No work will occur underwater. Core drilling, wire sawing, line drilling, or other precision cutting methods shall be utilized for the concrete cutting. Steel corner protection and wall armor will also be cut at locations of the proposed concrete wire sawing. The contractor is responsible to cut concrete free as indicated. The Government will remove the concrete sections at a later date. Construction will occur in close proximity to waterway traffic. The Auxiliary chamber is currently out of service and will remain closed for the duration of the contract. All work shall be performed in a manner that will not interfere with the duties of project personnel or lock operation. The primary (river) lock chamber at New Cumberland L/D is currently operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This procurement will be a Firm Fixed Price, 100% Small Business Set Aside. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 238990 - All Other Specialty Trade Contractors, and the small business size standard is $15.0M. The period of performance will be 180 days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The estimated cost of the proposed work is between $100,000 to $250,000. The Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued on or about July 19, 2016 online through Federal Business Opportunities (FBO.gov), therefore, requests for hardcopies of the solicitation may not be honored. In order to receive notification of any amendments to this solicitation, interested vendo on the FBO.gov website. If you are not registered, the Government is not responsible with providing notification of any changes to this solicitation. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) before receiving a contract award (go to www.sam.gov to register).
