- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION USING OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION FOR THE REPAIR AND UPGRADE OF THE GOVERNMENT-OWNED CYCLOTRON EQUIPMENT AT VA GREATER LOS ANGELES HEALTHCARE SYSTMEM The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 22, intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) to Advanced Cyclotron Systems Inc., 7851 Alderbridge Way, Richmond, BC, V6X2A4, Canada. Advanced Cyclotron Systems Inc. will provide the proper repair and upgrade of the Government-Owned Cyclotron Equipment, (Manufacture: Advanced Cyclotron Systems, Model# TR19), as well as labor, travel, parts, and software upgrades. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. The Contractor's unique qualifications are as follows: Advanced Cyclotron Systems Inc. (ACSI) is the original equipment manufacturer of the Advanced Cyclotron Systems, Model# TR19. They are the only authorized maintenance and repair service provider of these units and maintain proprietary rights of replacement parts and servicing of this equipment. ACSI does not train, authorize or endorse third party companies or individuals to service their equipment and will not agree to repair damages made by third party companies or unauthorized technicians on the equipment. Servicing of cyclotron equipment without the appropriate training, procedures, tools and quality systems may result in malfunction of the equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received IAW the attached Statement of Work by 09:00AM PST on July 21, 2016 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotations should be e-mailed to Ryoko.Foran@va.gov no later than 09:00AM PST on July 21, 2016. Only quotations received by this date will be considered. Be advised that all correspondence sent via e-mail shall contain a subject line that reads "Quotation for Repair of Cyclotron Equipment".
