- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to Fisher Scientific Company LLC, 4500 Turnberry Drive, Hanover Park, IL 60133-5491 to acquire a Microm - Thermo Fisher Scientific, a standard cryostat for frozen tissue sectioning for replacement of broken Microm cryostat that CDC has used for diagnosis of rabies for the past 15 years. The accessory parts from the old cryostat HM505N (tissue holders, etc.) can be used in the newer model HM525NX. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received by July 25, 2016 at 2:00PM EST of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
