- Forest Service Experience Questionnaire DOL Wage Determination Kenney Vicinity Kenney Maps Fire Plan AG-82D7-S-16-0010 Solicitation Package Solicitation Soliciation Period: 07/19/2016 - 08/18/2016 Due: 08/18/16 5:00pm MST The Kenney Flats II Mowing Project Area is located on Forest Service land 14 miles southeast of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The Pagosa Ranger District is responsible for the Project. The proposed treatments under this contract involves mechanical thinning, mowing and shredding of Rocky Mountain juniper, white fir, Douglas fir, aspen, ponderosa pine, Gambel oak and associated shrubs. The purpose of this mowing and shredding treatment is to thin and shred ponderosa pine trees and understory vegetation in order to improve overall stand health and to mitigate fire hazards by decreasing fuel continuity. The Project area is within the Wildland Urban Interface and is at high risk of producing a high intensity crown fire potentially impacting adjacent residences and private land. LOCATION: The Project Area is located on the Pagosa Ranger District in Archuleta County, approximately 14 miles southeast of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The legal location of the Project Area is T. 33 N., R. 1 W., Section 1, 10, 11, 13, 14, and 24 and T. 33 N., 1 E., section 5, 6, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22 and 28. A Vicinity Map showing the general location of the Project Area and a Project Area Map showing the location of the Treatment Units are attached to this Contract. TREATMENT UNITS: The location and boundaries of the Treatment Units are shown on the Project Area Map. There are 10 Treatment Units totaling 965 acres, plus an additional unit of approximately 60 acres pending approval in the Project Area.
