Description
Solicitation W911WN-16-B-8004 Bid Schedule Wage Determination Drawings Specifications Project Information: The project area is located on the left bank of the West Fork River within the corporate limits of the Town of Worthington, Marion County, WV. A sanitary sewer line was placed underground near the bank in 1993. Since then, the riverbank has eroded several feet, creating an over-steepening of the bank. Erosion encroached to within 5ft of the estimated location of the sanitary pipeline in some locations. The sewage collection pipeline is a vacuum system. If a break occurs, then the vacuum suction will be lost and the potential for untreated sanitary discharge into the environment could occur. To address the issues associated with streambank erosion along the north bank of the West Fork River, this project proposes to use a combination of riprap (rock) and bioengineering bank stabilization (brush layering) techniques along a 1,350-foot stretch of the West Fork River. The bank will be graded to a slope of between 2:1 (H:V) and 3:1. Riprap will be installed along the toe of the streambank. Native vegetation will be installed with turf reinforcement matting above the riprap. Existing mature Maple Trees will be preserved to the maximum extent possible. It is anticipated that a net cut (spoil) will be produced from the installation of riprap and brush layering. This material will be disposed of at a nearby disposal site owned by the Town of Worthington located across the West Fork River. This acquisition will be a 100% HUBZone small business set-aside. NAICS code is 238910, Site Preparation. All responsible HUBZone small business bidders are encouraged to participate. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued online only through the Federal Business Opportunities website; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored. In order to receive notification of any amendments to this solicitation, interested vendors must register as such on the FBO.gov website. If you are not registered, the Government is not responsible for providing notification of any changes to the solicitation. Contractors must be actively registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database before receiving any contract award (go to www.sam.gov to register). An organized site visit has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 10:00 am. Please download soliciation for details and instructions for attendance.
