- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Western Ecological Research Center, Dixon, CA has a requirement to track skunks and raccons in order to assess movement, habitat use, and their role as a mesopredator in Suisun Marsh. To accomplish this we require the following GPS-UHF collar specifications: Collar dimensions need to fit our study species, which requires a minimum collar circumference of 14 cm and maximum collar circumference of 35 cm. Collar circumferences can be 14-25 cm (skunks) or 20-35 cm (raccoons) The tag needs to be approximately 3% or less of body weight, so the maximum tag is mass for is approximately 65 g and an even smaller tag of < 45 g would be better: A minimum of 3 month transmitter lifespan (BUT MUST LAST > 45 days) Sampling every 15 min for > 15 hours per day < 65 g total weight (maximum mass for skunks) VHF add-on UHF remote download Reasonable distance range for collar download Collar dimensions that fit our species range: 14 ¿ 35 cm Base station with unidirectional antenna, omnidirectional antenna and battery grip for downloading the collars. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 and 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; solicitation number G16PS00679 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in accordance with Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-89, effective 14 Jul 2016. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, firm-fixed price type purchase order. All firms must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at www.sam.gov, to be considered at award.
