- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Chemical Sciences Division (CSD) is conducting market research for the acquisition of special wedge optics made of mono-crystalline silicon in accordance with the following specifications: The wedges must have very little transmitted wave front distortion. This is critical for NOAA's application for a high profile field experiment. • Si Monocrystalline Prism • Diameter : 101,6mm • Thickness : 10,4mm at the thinnest • Coating : AR/AR at 1550nm • Polishing : 40/20 Scratch & Dig • Flatness : lambda/10 both sides at 633nm • Bevel : 0,2 -0,5mm x 45° • Edge : unpolished • Wedge: 4°13'48'' +/-5' (same tolerance than for Leosphere) • Qty: 02 pieces • Wedge: 5°57' +/-5' (same tolerance than for Leosphere) • Qty: 01 piece DELIVERY: NEEDED BY SEPTEMBER 1. 2016 THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Firms that believe they can provide the supplies that fully meet or exceeds the Government's requirements may submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified point of contact within 3 days after publication of this RFI. Such documentation will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
