Description
Introduction: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA is conducting a market research exercise to identify opportunities to reduce potable water use at its facilities in Atlanta, GA. This is not to be construed as a request for proposal or a solicitation, but a Request for Information only. The goal for our team at CDC is to gauge industry interest, ascertain capability, become more familiar with industry best practices, and gain knowledge and market data to prepare for potential projects if such projects are deemed to be in the best interest of the Government. Background: CDC leadership has identified a need to reduce potable water use at our facilities. We are exploring options for projects as a means to satisfy sustainability mandates and also reduce operating expenses. We are interested in cost-effective project(s) to offset domestic water consumption for facility processes such as cooling tower or boiler make-up demand utilizing reclaimed water generation technologies using black water as primary source. General Parameters: 1. Scope to include (2) Atlanta area campuses. Combined rough order of magnitude data for the Roybal and Chamblee campuses is as follows: a. 96 acres b. 9000 employees c. Estimated quantity of requested process/make up water: 65-70 Mgals/yr 2. Requested water characteristics: a. Conductivity of 300 MMHS (Mega Ohms) or less. b. Interested parties to propose upper limits of produced reclaimed water BOD (Biochemical oxygen demand) and residual FOG (Fat, oil and grease) levels. Requested Information: 1. Provide recommended potential engineering approaches and options, as well as approximate facility size/ location parameters and other ancillary support systems including but not limited to power/ piping etc.... What power or other utilities would be required to operate the facility? 2. For turn-key vendor operated/ financed operation with a 20 year purchase agreement, estimate anticipated cost range in $/Kgal for treated water. 3. For a vendor operated, owner constructed facility, estimate anticipated facility construction cost and $/Kgal cost range for treated water. 4. For a vendor operated, vendor constructed facility, estimate anticipated facility construction cost and $/Kgal cost range for treated water. Response Requirements: 1 Response shall be (20) 8.5x11 pages, or less, submitted via email in.pdf format to the address noted below. 2 Response shall include overview of capabilities and prior project experience. This portion of the deliverable shall emphasize: a. Work with government clients (including but not limited to federal agencies) b. Local or regional presence. c. Ability to design, construct, and manage full lifecycle of the project. d. Innovative approach or solutions with emphasis on sustainable practices. 3. Response shall include "Requested Information" information outlined above (Numbered 1-4). 4. Response PDF file shall be submitted within (30) colander days of this posting. Please note deadline day and time. Any responses received after the deadline will not be considered. 5. This request shall be managed by a single point of contact at CDC identified in the posting with all correspondence to via email. Please provide full contact information. 6. Any follow up correspondence or additional information requests will be at the sole discretion of The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 7. Should any portion of a response package fail to meet these requirements, or should a deliverable be deemed incomplete or inadequate, the submitting entity may be excluded from future engagement or follow up. For Response Packages: Sarah Gray Sgray1@cdc.gov
