- Description
- Statement of Objectives Automated Processing Systems Image Capturing and Dimensioning Data Collection Systems Study RFI Automated Package Processing Systems Image Capturing and Dimensional Data Collection Systems This Statement of Objectives (SOO) initiative is part of an ongoing World-Class Package Program - Research and Development to do a study to update the existing APPS image capture and dimension data collection systems. This document is intended to present information regarding the study to improve the image capturing and dimension data collection systems on the Automated Package Processing System (APPS) to the camera industry. The purpose is to find camera manufacturers who are qualified and capable of meeting this challenge. This study shall be conducted with current or cutting-edge dimensioning and address image capture technology. The objective of this project is for the supplier to study the capabilities and data flow of a replacement camera and dimensioner to interface with the existing APPS image capturing and dimension data collection systems to determine the best equipment that can be used with the current APPS network/control architecture. The supplier shall determine what improvements can be made to the subsystems utilizing the most current, new, or cutting edge equipment in both the Feed Singulate and Distribute (FSD) Data Collection System (DCS) and Automated Address Recognition System (AARS) tunnel and the Semi-Auto induct dimensioning and camera tunnel.
