- Synopsis Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Using FAR subpart 13.5, "Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items", the United States Coast Guard (USCG) intends to award a firm fixed-price (FFP) 30-day contract to: Computer Science Corporation (CSC) Advanced Marine Center 1201 M St, Southeast, Suite 400, Washington DC 20003 The contract will be for software upgrades to an existing Full Mission Bridge Simulator (FMBS). The upgrades will utilize proprietary Virtual Ship 2000 simulation software for two virtual large cutter bridge systems. The existing Virtual Ship licenses will be upgraded from Version 4 to the latest version Version 9. CSC will also: add/install 2 virtual Alidades per bridge; develop/add a High-Fidelity Ownership model of the 154' Fast Response Cutter (FRC); develop/add a Lo-Fidelity model Search and Rescue (SAR) debris field; and install Virtual Ship software, virtual Alidades, and a groom/optimize system. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not presently constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. If there are any vendors who can provide clear and convincing evidence that they can meet this requirement, please contact the contracting officer, Mr. Nathan Dolezal, and the contract specialist, Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Joe Tallent, within 10 calendar days of this posting. Any vendor that believes it can provide the stated services must provide supporting documents demonstrating their technical capability and their authorization as a value added reseller. Based on responses to this notice, USCG may or may not choose to compete this proposed requirement.
