- The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with the Hydroid, Inc. 6 Benjamin Nye Circle, Pocassett, MA 02559 02559 for the following requirement: To repair the Government-furnished Hydroid REMUS-600 and REMUS-100 autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV's), for the NOAA, NOS Coast Survey Development Laboratory, Silver Spring Maryland.: 41 USC 253(c)(1). The FSC for this is 2040 and the NAICS Code is 334511, small business size standard is 1,250 employees. The government intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order for this requirement. Hydroid, Inc. is the manufacturer of the REMUS and holds the patents and proprietary information necessary to perform the required repairs and has the required parts, services, hardware and software necessary to complete the required work. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a quote. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received by 4:00 P.M. August 5, 2016 will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Evidence must be provided of ability to perform the required repairs. Responses to this notice, if any, must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to Linda.Mullen@noaa.gov.
