Description

Synopsis VA528-16-B-0294: This is a public synopsis of a forthcoming solicitation in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. This is NOT a solicitation, and no solicitation documents are currently publically available. The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a General Construction Contractor to completely renovate the brick and concrete ADA ramp for access to Building 5 from the inner courtyard. Work will involve demolition of the brick façade and concrete slab, repair of the existing foundation, new brick façade and concrete slab, new stainless steel handrail and connection of storm drainage and all other work as required by the drawings and specifications, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 400 Fort Hill Ave. Canandaigua, NY 14424. Competition for this procurement is restricted to SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). The work includes but is not limited to general construction, alterations, walks, grading, drainage, paving, and necessary removal of existing structures and construction; along with related electrical and plumbing work. Electrical work involves minor wiring for power door operator and plumbing work includes connection of storm drain. Estimated construction cost range is $250,000-$500,000. The firm must be a General Construction Contractor approved under NAICS: 236220, size standard: $36.5 million. The offeror shall obtain any and all necessary licenses or permits required to perform this work in the State of New York. Prospective contractors must be registered and certified online with http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov and must be registered at http://www.sam.gov in accordance with 38 CFR Part 74 and VAAR 819.70 to be eligible for award. Solicitation will be posted on/about August 13, 2016. A walk-through will be held on or about one week after the posting of the solicitation for this IFB. These dates are estimates. The actual dates will be stated in the solicitation. The Contracting Specialist for this project is Emily Lindsey (Emily.Lindsey2@va.gov). This is a SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN OWNED BUSINESS SET-ASIDE.
