- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 3, Bloomington, MN intends to award a sole source firm fixed price order under authority of FAR 6.302-1, Other than Full and Open Competition procedures to Covaris, Inc., Woburn, MA. This requirement is for an Ultra Sonicator which is the only instrument on the market that uses adaptive focused acoustic shearing. It can also be used on a small amount of DNA, which is not available with other mechanical means of shearing DNA. The ultra sonicator is compatible with the existing NextSeq500 to break DNA into the proper sizes for analysis. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 334516. The size standard is 1,000. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however firms with expressed interest and capability are encouraged to respond by August 4, 2016. This notice is for informational purposes only. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
