PRESOLICITATION NOTICE FOR THE RENOVATION OF UROLOGY CLINIC IN BLDG 9 OF WALTER REED NATIONAL MILITARY MEDICAL CENTER, AT NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BETHESDA, MARYLAND Notice Type: Presolicitation Notice Solicitation: N40080-16-R-5489 Date: 2 August 2016 Classification Code: Y- Construction NAICS Code: 236220 The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Washington intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Design Bid Build construction, firm-fixed price, contract for the Renovation of the Urology Department, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The RFP will be issued under N40080-16-R-5489 and is expected to be posted to Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) at https://www.neco.navy.mil/ by the middle of August. This RFP will be solicited utilizing a one-phase competitive procurement, negotiation procedures under FAR Part 15. Evaluation will be conducted utilizing Best Value, Lowest Price Technically Acceptable. The Government intends to award one (1) firm-fixed contract. The north American Industry Classification system (NAICS) Code is 236220. In accordance with FAR 36.204, the construction magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00. NAVFAC Washington is seeking eligible small businesses capable of performing the construction work listed below: Demolition of the existing 15,000 SF. Urology clinic on the 2nd floor and construction of new clinic in similar location in several phases in and around active clinical areas to facilitate the Urology Treatment functions which will remain in operation, throughout the work. The project also includes multiphase MEP work to accommodate the 24/7 operation in the Radiology department on the active floor below as well to support the work above. The 1st floor is not being renovated but will receive new finishes as required to accommodate the work above. The Contractor will also be responsible for protecting all medical equipment on the first floor when performing the above ceiling work. This work occurs in Building 9, WRNMMC. The Government intends to post all notices/amendments related to this solicitation on NECO and the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fbo.gov. All interested firms must be registered on the NECO or FBO web sites in order to obtain the solicitation documents and all information regarding the solicitation.
