Description

National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division Notice of Intent for Sole Source Purchase The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, intends to negotiate with LGA Thin Films, Inc. located in Santa Clara, CA 95051, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source, for providing titanium and copper thin film coating. The unique technical specifications for this procurement include the ability to apply titanium and copper thin film coatings to irregular, hexagonally shaped micro-machined silicon wafer parts using an overhead sputtering technique, without the use of clips, tape, screws, or clamps to secure the wafers. In addition, the parts must be cleaned in situ using argon ion plasma. The NAICS code 334419 - OTHER ELECTRONIC COMPONENT MANUFACTURING, with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. NIST anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed-price purchase order to LGA Thin Films for this requirement. Interested parties who can demonstrate they could satisfy the requirements listed above for NIST must clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition. If competitive procedures are not used it is estimated that an award will be issued by 08/06/2016. Any questions regarding this notice must be submitted in writing via email to dennis.fuentes@nist.gov. All responses to this notice of intent must be submitted so that they are received at dennis.fuentes@nist.gov no later than 11:00 am MST Friday, August 5, 2016.
