- Description
- Military Sealift Command (MSC) requires a vessel to conduct range clearance in support of USS CONNECTICUT (SSN 22) underwater operations in the Bremerton, WA area. The chartered vessel will provide a clearance watch area defined as a circle with a radius of four (4) NM centered at two locations: in the Straits of Juan De Fuca, and off the coast of Washington State. The vessel will be required to use radar detection to detect and determine the closest point of approach of any vessel passing within the clearance operating area. All of the work in this task will be performed in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Bremerton, Washington area. Concept of Operations: Charter duration is up to seventeen (17) days, commencing 30 September and ending 16 October 2016, which includes loading and unloading, transit time, and three (3) days float for start date. The vessel Master shall attend a pre-sail conference one (1) to five (5) days prior to Sea Trials (at Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton) to discuss operations and communications. It is estimated the vessel will be at sea for one (1) to twelve (12) days without port call.
