- The purpose of this requirement is to renew Informatica maintenance. The Period of performance isone year. The requested brand name Informatica maintenance support services is unique and specific for use with the Government owned Informatica product. The FCC currently has Informatica software and maintenance (backup/recovery, monitoring and administrative solutions) that is currently in place and used with our existing Informatica IT infrastructure. To use another manufacturer would require changes to the FCC IT infrastructure that would be cost prohibitive and severely impact project schedules. These changes include the purchase of additional hardware, software and/or additional licensing to support enterprise services already established in this IT architecture. Training of existing staff and/or hiring of new staff to accommodate the workload acquired by this change of infrastructure will directly increase the budget overhead and result in mass project delays. These cost and time delays incurred would be duplicated to accommodate the multiple environments (Development, Test, and Acceptance) needed to reduce system and network risks when enhancements are released into production and the ability to perform root cause analysis. Additionally, this product scales in performance and data magnitude in the existing infrastructure. Therefore this product will maintain an optimal efficiency during times of high volume in data processing.
