- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to address inquiries regarding this procurement's minimum requirements. Question 1) Our system has a center frequency/wavelength of 1040 nm. This we interpret as meeting the requested range of 1035+/- 5 nm. Answer 1) This would indeed meet the requirement. Question 2) The specification for an output of >/=40Watts at 400 fs, 40 uJ/pulse and a repetition rate of 1 MHz. We can meet these specifications, but is 40 uJ per pulse required at 1 MHz or is it acceptable at, say, 400 kHz but 1 MHz attainable at reduced energy [~16 uJ]. Answer 2) 40 Watts at 400 fs at a rep rate of 1 MHz/40 uJ is the requirement. 40 uJ at 400KHz does not meet the requirement. Question 3) Your 4th item, must have "accurate tuning" of the pulse between 400 fs to 10 ps. Can we learn more about this. Is this thought to be continuously tunable 400 fs, meaning stop at any values, for example; 430 fs, 500 fs, 800 fs, 1 ps, 3 ps, 5 ps, 8 ps, 10 ps. Or able to meet those values. 4a-Is tuning to 4 ps acceptable? Answer 3) The ability to vary the pulse width between the tuning range is what is required. Question 4) Your point 6, Is it acceptable to provide polarization rotation form horizontal to stated vertical? Answer 4) An external polarization rotator would still meet the polarization requirement as long as it does not impact the performance requirements of the total system in that the required specification will be measured/evaluated after the polarization rotator. Question 5) The spirit systems meet many of the requested data points with exception TEM00 beam quality, but a bulk material lasers with a strong Industrial heritage. Would such a system be considered as a real alternative to the fiber amplified system? Answer 5) TEM00 beam quality is a requirement. Question 6) Is there value in proposing a system with 120 uJ at 100 kHz, 40 uJ at 400 kHz per the spirit HE data sheet. Answer 6) 40 Watts at 400 fs at a rep rate of 1 MHz/40 uJ is the requirement. 40 uJ at 400KHz does not meet the requirement. This solicitation due date is hereby extended until 12:00pm August 12th, 2016
