- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - New England District is issuing a Pre-Solicitation Notice for Hop Brook Lake, Middlebury, Connecticut. The period of performance of the resulting contract will be a period of 120 days from the date of award. The estimated cost of this procurement is between $25,000 and $150,000. Scope of Work: Remove and replace unpaved parking area with pervious asphalt pavement. • Provide full-depth excavation and removal of existing unsuitable material in an area approximately 4,550 square yards consisting of millings, parking lot base material, and existing subgrade material. Excavation shall include the parking lot and the driveway up to the main road. The unsuitable material shall be hauled offsite and recycled. The existing material requiring excavation is approximately 20 inches thick. • 194that existing grade is maintained, install new stone aggregate reservoir layer and stabilizer/choker layer materials as specified herein, and followed by installation of approximately 4,550 square yards surface layer of pervious asphalt pavement. Finished surface elevation of the new asphalt pavement shall match the existing elevations and drainage patterns. The slope of the porous pavement surface shall be less than 5%. • Regrade the shoulders around the parking lot to match the finish elevation of the new pervious pavement. Provide 1' (one-foot) wide compacted gravel shoulders along new pavement (approximately 18 cubic yards of gravel total), 6" depth. Re-graded and compacted shoulders shall match the finish elevation of the new pervious asphalt pavement. Gravel shall be 1-1/4" trap rock. Shoulders should meet flush with the driving surface and slope slightly away from the driving surface. Shoulders should slope no more than ¾ inch per foot. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment and materials and carry out all operations as necessary to accomplish the work of this project as described in this document and on the contract drawings. This solicitation will be available on or about 19-AUG-2016 with an anticipated quote due date of 29-AUG-2016. The solicitation will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov). In order to view this solicitation, prospective contractors are required to self-register their firm with Federal Business Opportunities (Go to http://www.fbo.gov and "register now" under Vendor/Citizens). Amendments, if any, will be available at this Internet site. Registrants are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. This procurement is set-aside for small business vendors. The applicable NAICS code is 237310 with a Small Business Size Standard of $36,500,000.
