- This is a request for information for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, and 13.106, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center/SimLEARN Center, Orlando, FL. is seeking information. This request for information is to determine if this can be set aside for small business concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 512240 and the small business size standard is $7.5 million. If in the responses to this solicitation the contracting office can identify 2 or more Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) the solicitation will be set aside for them. If the rule of 2 cannot be met for SDVOSBs, but can be met for Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs), the set aside will be VSOBs. If neither group can fulfill this requirement, it will be set aside for small business concerns. For evaluation purposes only: Verification of GSA FSS SDVOSBs/VOSBs -VA verified SDVOSBs or VOSBs in the Vendor Information Pages (VIP) database at the time of contract award will be considered for award and non-VIP verified firms will be considered non-responsive and ineligible for award [per Kingdomware Technologies, Inc. v. United States]. The VHA SimLEARN Program is standing up a National SimLEARN Center. The National Simulation will have a very crowded work environment that will often include distracting for students, faculty and administrative personnel, making for a difficult working environment. Sound masking is a technology that provides speech privacy to an enclosed area for the purpose of decreasing distractions and improving comfort. A sound masking system achieves speech privacy by adding an unobtrusive background sound to a space so that unwanted or distracting noise is less noticeable.
