- Solar Panel Modification Solar Panel Laser Safe Modification - Request for Information General Information This REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) is for market research and planning purposes only and shall not be considered to be an obligation by the Government to acquire any products or services. Responses to this RFI will be accepted via e-mail to the address listed below. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this Notice. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this evaluation. Capability statements will not be returned and will not be accepted after the due date. NSWC 1999 4th Bldg. 523, Norco, CA 92860- 4603 United States, Attn: Sharon Buscemi, Code 0222, sharon.buscemi@navy.mil Description The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division is hereby issuing an RFI from all potential sources capable of providing the requirements specified below: Solar Panel Modification Salient Characteristics 1. The modification to the solar panel must result a high components of diffuse reflection and a >96% reduction of speculator reflection. 2. Acceptable methods of modifications are uniformly sandblasting each panel or applying anti-glint coating. 3. The modification shall not result in a > 10% reduction of the panel's power producing efficiency. 4. The weight of the solar panel shall not be increased. 5. The modification shall not require reapplication. 6. The solar panel and components shall remain weatherproof. 7. The Contractor will be responsible to securing Government furnished solar panels while in their possession. 8. The contractor is responsible for any damaged solar panels, resulting from errors in the modification process, handling, storage, packing, and shipping. 9. Delivery of the modified solar panels must be scheduled prior and delivered during NSWC Corona Division receiving business hours 0900-1500 Mon-Friday excluding holidays. Vendors may also provide comments, and/or questions related to the specifications herein. Information obtained through this RFI will be used to determine appropriate strategies to meet the Agency's requirements.
