The advantages are: 1) It is easier to detect leaks from a vinyl chamber than other types of material; 2) the quality will help maintain the correct atmospheric conditions within the chamber, allowing USDA Researchers to culture very sensitive obligate anaerobes successfully and save money over time on gas mixture purchases; and additionally, 3) the flexibility of the vinyl material provides for better ergonomic arm placement during use, making it easier for the laboratory technicians to conduct their experiments The COY LAB' Vinyl. Anaerobic Chambers, Type B includes two (2) pairs of gloves, two (2) ABS plastic work pads, two (2) fans boxes, and four (4) Stak-Paks with Catalyst. It's also have a variety of standard equipment, other unique features, options and multiple accessories for this vinyl chamber. COY LAB is currently the only manufacturer that provides vinyl chambers with hydrogen sulfide removal column (HSRC) & dehumidifier. The HSRC & Dehumidifier are essential & required to safeguard the consistency & validity of USDA WHNRC research. HSRC is highly critical for their research application, especially when culturing human gut bacteria which frequently produce copious amount of hydrogen sulfide (H2S). H2S damages the gas analyzer, which monitors the oxygen and hydrogen levels within the chamber, and the palladium catalyst, which removes oxygen from the chamber. Without diligent removal of H2S, these as well as any other pieces of sensitive equipment kept within the chamber, will have to be frequently replaced. The Dehumidifier protects the sensitive equipment placed inside the chamber. Condensation that builds up during bacterial growth can destroy electronic equipment necessary to measure bacterial growth rates. Pursuant to the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The award date will be on or about August 18, 2016 ; and this Notice of Intent is not considered as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination, by the Government, to compete this proposed PO based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will consider all responses received by 10:30AM PST, August 18, 2016. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to the Primary Point of Contact: Washingtoni.NLN@ars.usda.gov.
