Description
The purpose of this amendment is to post clarifications resulting from the site visit held August 2, 2016. Clarifications based on discussion during the site visit: - Work includes digging out all unpaved utility trench cuts to a depth of 2 inches, then pre-leveling with HMA to the existing asphalt surface, all prior to the final HMA paving operation. - Pre-leveling with HMA is required for all potholes or other depressions. - Gravel from the utility trench excavations is acceptable to be re-used for constructing ramps from the finished asphalt surface into existing camp site access driveways. No asphalt chunks will be allowed in the access ramps. - No gravel is to be placed on the shoulder of the new pavement except at camp site access driveways. - Excess spoils from utility trench excavation shall be stockpiled at a site designated by the COR. One site will be designated per campground loop. - All excess asphalt, including discarded chunks and small areas of ravel along the side of the road shall be cleaned up and removed from the site by the Contractor. - The Contractor is responsible for all surface preparation including sweeping, duff removal along road edges, and tack coat application. - NPS will provide traffic control which will consist of closing the camp ground Loops D & F, and posting construction warning signs. - F loop - remove existing asphalt along the utility trench up to the existing saw cut prior to or during excavation and pre-level work. No other changes.
