- STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) 2. Contract Title. Purchase of Instrumentation for Eye Cataract Trays. 3. Background. With the addition of 4 additional Surgery Suites in the Ambulatory Surgical Center and a increase in ophthalmic patients and surgical procedures, the NMVAHCS requires the purchase of additional ophthalmic re-usable Instruments to conduct these procedures and reduce patient surgery wait times and Fee basing the patient to the local hospitals. 4. Scope. Purchase of re-usable Ophthalmic Instrumentation for use during Eye Cataract Surgery. These instruments are all assembled into a procedure tray and are not all available from the same vendor. Purchase from multiple vendors is required and acceptable. 5. Specific Tasks. The NMVAHCS requires re-usable ophthalmic instrumentation that has been validated for use during eye cataract surgery. These instruments must be approved for sterilization in a steam autoclave using the following moist heat (steam) sterilization methods and follow the following guidelines for reprocessing: "ASCRS/ASORN Special Report Recommendations for the cleaning and sterilization of intraocular cataract surgical equipment. J. Cataract Refract Surg. 2007; 33(6):1095-1100. "ANSI/AAMI ST79:2010 and A1:2010 Comprehensive guide to steam sterilization and sterility assurance. "Prevacuum High Temperature Autoclave: 274?F (134?C) for 3 minutes; wrapped. "Dynamic-air-removal steam sterilization cycles 270?F (132?C) for 4 minutes and 275?F (135?C) for 3 minutes. "Standard Gravity Autoclave: 250?F (121?C) for 30 minutes; wrapped. "High Speed (Flash) Autoclave: 270?F (132?C) for 10 minutes; unwrapped.
