Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE only. Responses to this notice will be used for information and planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This notice shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System, Biloxi, MS is interested in identifying sources to provide Oncologists/physicians to render Outpatient Oncology services (more information below) to the Veterans that qualify as beneficiaries of the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System. Services will be performed at the VA Biloxi facility located at 400 Veterans Ave, Biloxi, MS 39531. Services shall be temporary as the facility is attempting to recruit this position. Oncologist shall have current license, BLS and ACLS certification and are required to be credentialed and privileged by the VA. Offeror's response to this Notice shall be limited to 10 pages and shall include the following information: "Offeror's company name, DUNS, address, point of contact, title, phone number, and email address "Offeror's interest in bidding on the solicitation when it is issued "Offeror's capability to meet this requirement (may include summary of CV's which demonstrates staff qualifications and experience) including any current contracts (Civilian or Government). "Offeror's type of business (small or large) and socioeconomic status whether Service Disable Veteran Owned, Veteran Owned, Hubzone, 8(a), Woman Owned, Small Disadvantaged, etc The NAICS code is 561320, Temporary Help Services (size standard of $27.5 million). Responses must be received by no later than 4 pm Central, August 17, 2016. Responses may be emailed to Melanie.Hawley@va.gov using "sources sought number VA256-16-Q-1239" in the subject line. Facsimile responses will not be accepted. Responses may be mailed to Melanie Hawley, Contract Specialist, 400 Veterans Ave (NCO16), Building T102, Room A108, Biloxi, MS 39531-2410. After review of the responses to this sources sought notice, a solicitation announcement may be published on the eBUY website or to Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov ). Responses to this sources sought notice are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought notice. All interested parties are reminded to be registered with System Award Management (SAM) at http://www.sam.gov in order to be eligible for award of Government contracts. If SDVOSB and/or VOSB, contractor must be verified in Vendor Information Pages (www.vetbiz.gov ). Additional information/description of duties: (a)Provide services in a Monday-Friday Outpatient Oncology Clinic (b)Provide clinical support to the Medical Service and Oncology Department. (c)Provide patient care, patient/family education, and participate in any indicated clinical research in Hematology and Oncology. (d)Provide comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of hematology and oncology. The scope of these activities covers all phases of ambulatory care. (e)Demonstrate knowledge of preventative medicine and primary care as related to hematology and oncology (e.g. complications of disorders and treatments, side effects of medications used), the role of non-physician health care professionals and health care evaluation. (f)Respond to and complete consults received for the evaluation of hematology and oncology, (g)Conduct physical examinations and treatment, coordination of medical care with primary care providers, other subspecialists, social workers, data managers, pharmacists, dietitians, nursing, and other personnel as leader of a multidisciplinary team. (h)Ensures that high quality patient care is delivered in a resourceful and efficient manner. (i)Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and order diagnostic studies. (j)Consult with disciplines, as necessary, to complete the patient evaluation; (k)Carry out health promotion and disease prevention activities including education and shared decision-making. (l)Provide consultative series on patients referred from other sections of the hospital and affiliated outpatient clinics. (m)Perform administrative and other tasks as necessary that directly relate to this requirement. (n)Provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and treatment of disease. (o)Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. (p)Maintains policy orders or notes as appropriate (e.g. H&P, Discharge Summary, DNR, medication reconciliation and encounter forms).
