Description

VAMC San Francisco is requesting the purchase of a 3D printer, the Solidscape MAX2. Brand name or equal may be considered provided it has the ability to meet the following requirements: The ability to print exact replica models of anatomical structures that are imaged in vivo. The 3D printer must accept surface contours extracted from in vivo imaging and reproduce those contours by printing them at high resolution in a solid wax replica. As those models are used to construct subsequent hollow models by embedding in silastic and melting out the wax, it is essential that the printer is able to print wax models. High spatial resolution is needed to faithfully capture the requisite details of the anatomy and resolution of 5000 dots/inch is required and should have ability to print a maximum size of 6" x 6" x 4" This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes they are capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Monday, August 15, 2016 at 1:00 PM EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Linda Buccigrossi at linda.buccigrossi@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
