- Requirements The contractor shall supply the Army Petroleum Laboratory with 1 All-in-One Automatic Digital Density Meter/Viscosity Unit with auto-sampler that meet the following specifications: The All-in-One Automatic Digital Density Meter/Viscosity Unit with auto-sampler shall conform to ASTM D7402-16, Standard Test Method for Dynamic Viscosity and Density of Liquids by Stabinger Viscometer (and the Calculation of Kinematic Viscosity), ASTM D4052-15, Standard Test Method for Density, Relative Density, and API Gravity of Liquids by Digital Density Meter, and ASTM D2270-10, Standard Practice for Calculating Viscosity Index from Kinematic Viscosity at 40and 100 degrees C. Performance. A 5 mL test specimen is injected into a test cell. From this one sample injection the instrument will determine, Dynamic viscosity, kinematic viscosity, Saybolt viscosity, viscosity index, density, relative density, and API gravity of the sample. When through with the specimen analysis the instrument will automatically clean and dry itself and inject the next sample for analysis. 1. The All-in-One Automatic Digital Density Meter/Viscosity Unit with auto-sampler shall have the following capabilities: a. Detect the following parameters from a single sample injection: i. Dynamic Viscosity IAW ASTM D7042 ii. Kinematic Viscosity IAW ASTM D7042 iii. Saybolt Viscosity IAW ASTM D2161 iv. Viscosity Index IAW ASTM D2270 v. Density IAW ASTM D4052 vi. API Gravity IAW ASTM D1250 b. Operate on 110V/115V/120V, 60 Hz power supply. c. Must be a stand-alone unit capable of doing viscosities from -20 to 135 degrees centigrade. No auxillary chiller is required for temperatures down to -20 degrees centigrade. d. Must be capable of cooling down to -55 degrees C with an external chiller. e. Must include a sample changer with a minimum of 70 sample positions. f. Must have a minimum 10 inch touchscreen user interface. g. Must have a minimum of 1 USB port for external data management. 2. The All-in-One Automatic Digital Density Meter/Viscosity Unit with auto-sampler shall include all accessories required for setup, operation, and calibration of a fully functional instrument. 3. On-site setup and training on the use of hardware and software for the operation of the All-in-One Automatic Digital Density Meter/Viscosity Unit with auto-sampler under standard conditions shall be included. 4. Total cost must include handling and shipping. Must be shipped/delivered directly to: New Cumberland, PA 17070-5083 5. The contractor shall provide a comprehensive two-year parts and labor warranty that includes technical assistance by phone. 6. Instrument must include 1 Annual preventive maintenance visit. 7. The contractor shall have certified repair personnel on staff that are capable of performing repairs of the All-in-One Automatic Digital Density Meter/Viscosity Unit with auto-sampler, onsite at the US Army Petroleum Laboratory, New Cumberland, PA.
