- The purpose of this amendment is to add the below information in bold, regarding this Sources Sought Synopsis. All other information remains unchanged. This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This is not a request for proposal, but a survey to locate potential sources. This Sources Sought does not constitute an Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, or a Request for Quotations, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited, nor is it a guarantee of a forthcoming solicitation or contract. It is for market research purposes only. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of industry, to include the Small Business Community: Small Business, Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB). The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsible contractors. Small business, Section 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, & EDWOSB businesses are highly encouraged to participate. Objective: To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed in the below Requirements section. Note that the specifications listed in the Requirements section below are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation. Requirement: C.1 Requirement The Contractor shall deliver one (1) Keyence, or equivalent, compact digital optical comparator in accordance with the Government's minimum requirements as stated in section C.2. C.2 Salient Characteristics C.2.1 Image Dimension Measuring System (Head); (PN: IM-6225) C.2.1.1 Shall include device footprint that fits within a two (2) feet(') x two 2 feet (') area for desktop location setup. C.2.1.2 Shall have a minimum field of view capability of 3.94 inches (") x 7.87 inches ("). C.2.2 Image Dimension Measuring System (Controller); (PN: IM-6701) C.2.2.1 Shall have National Institute of Standards Traceable (NIST) certification. C.2.2.2 Shall measure accuracy +/- 10 microns. C.2.2.3 Shall measure repeatability +/- two (2) microns. C.2.2.4 Shall have ability to, at a minimum, export measurements in Drawing Interchange Format (DXF) format file. C.2.2.5 Shall have the ability to gather 99 individual measurements within three (3) seconds C.2.3 Image Dime.nsion Measuring System Sapphire Glass for IM-6120; (PN: OP-87678) C.2.3.1 Shall have a scratch resistant surface. C.2.4 DeepOffset Table for IML/IMW φ100 Field of view; (PN: OP-87965) C.3 Delivery The Contractor shall deliver the system to the US Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Shipping and Receiving, Building 321, Colleran Road, APG Maryland, 21005-5066 within six (6) weeks after contract award date. Responses: All interested parties should notify this office in writing, mail, fax, or e-mail within the posted date. Responses shall include: (I) To what extent each of the specifications can be met. (II) Include your type of business (i.e. commercial, academia), whether your organization is classified as a large or small business based on the 1,000 employee standard that accompanies NAICS code 334516. If a small business, you must also list any small disadvantaged status you hold [HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), etc.]. (III) Past experience/ performance through the description of completed projects. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are due no later than 1700 eastern standard time 18 Aug 2016.
