Description
SINGLE SOURCE ANNOUNCEMENT 1. Introduction/Statement of Intent The FAA intends to award a single source bridge contract to the below Contractor to facilitate completion of task order work begun under the current contract. ACTA, Inc. Torrance, CA 90505-5345 2. Description of Supplies/Services Validation of Debris Hazard Volume (DHV) products (models and simulation) 3. Total Estimated Value and Period of Performance TEV: $320,000.00 PoP: November 01, 2016 “ May 22, 2017 4. Authority AMS policy paragraph 3.2.2.4 (Single-Source Selection) 5. Reasons for Single Source The award of a new contract would result in substantial duplication of costs and unacceptable delays in meeting the Government ™s requirements. Upon validation completion in May 2017, the contractor ™s technical SME ™s will be able to bring to a close 3000 of hours of simulation work, along with multiple man-years of data review and model development for the validated debris hazard models for operational engineering use. Standardization will ensure the correct expertise is in place for continuity, data analysis, and final product delivery. If the efforts were to be duplicated, an additional monetary expense of $1 million would be incurred by the Government. The Government cannot incur any unnecessary delays in the program considering the need of validated models for upcoming efforts. The resulting models and data are explicitly required for additional efforts being performed by the Tech Center, where the data and models will be incorporated into another larger development effort in Q4 FY2017. 6. Questions A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. Please submit questions pertaining to this announcement to Brad D. Nelson via email at brad.d.nelson@faa.gov.
