Description

Synopsis: Please note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals, the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. Network Contracting Office (NCO) 2, the Department of Veterans Affairs is currently conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of "replacing Dutch Oven and Liner for Boiler #1" in accordance with the below Statement of work for the VA Lyons campus, NJ. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, equipment, tools, material, parts needed to accomplish the task. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) is 238220. Responses to this notice must be submitting in writing (email) and must be received not later than 08/19/2016 at 11 am. Email: Phillip.kang@va.gov No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Interested parties MUST provide company/individual name, a capability statement, DUNS number and address, point of contact and social-economic. Interested parties who do not submit the above information on or before the response due date and time will not be considered for this procurement. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification/socioeconomic status (service-disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, women owned small business, HUB Zone, 8(a), small business or large business), relative to NAICS 238220. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced on Federal Business opportunities website http://www.fbo.gov at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Statement of Work This project is located at the boiler plant in the Dept. of VA NJHCS of Lyons, NJ. The contractor will supply all labor and material. The project will include but not be limited to open and close firesides, removing and replacing dutch oven and liner on Boiler # 1. Procedure for replacing dutch oven is as follows: open firesides of unit, remove gas lines and gas housing, remove old dutch oven and liner, clean area of all debris, install new dutch oven and liner, reinstall gas housing and gas lines, close and seal firesides. Dutch oven, liner, and mortar must be rated for 3000 degrees, and should be installed by factory trained service technicians. Fires / burner are to be reset for proper combustion by contractor. Contractor is to remove all debris from job site and dispose off-site. All work will comply with VA, Federal, State, County and ASME Codes and be completed in a professional manner. All equipment and materials will be warranted for a period of 1 year upon full completion and acceptance of work. Contractor will be required to comply with OSHA safety standards including lock-out tag-out and will be limited to work between the hours of 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM. Preferred certified Cleaver Brooks vendor/contractor due to fact scope of work entails procedure only certified Cleaver Brooks contractors may be aware of.
