- VIMEDIX Statement of Work NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD - SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Veteran's Health Administration (VHA) has a requirement to procure CAE Healthcare products called VIMEDIX Training Modules and Packages. The training modules and packages are necessary for integration into the CAE Vimedix training simulator the Government purchased in 2015. The VIMEDIX Training Modules and Packages are needed to train VHA medical personnel to perform self guided ultra sound procedures on the VIMEDIX training simulator.The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339112 - Surgical and Instrument Manufacturing. It is anticipated that the contract type will be a single award Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract. This requirement is to purchase the following items: 1. Abdominal FAST Module (VIM-502) -- Trains the student to address the Normal Abdomen, Hepato-Renal Reflection (Morrison's Pouch - Small), Retro-Vesical Reflection (Large), and the Splenal-Renal Reflection (Medium) pathologies. 2. Transesophageal Echocardiography module (VIM-501) -- Trains the student to address the Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Severe Biventricular Systolic Dysfunction, Hyperdynamic Left Ventricular Systolic Function, Normal Heart, and Recent Anterior Myocardial Infarction with Pericardial Effusion pathologies. 3. Cardiac Pathology Package 1 (VIM-600) -- Trains the student to address the Anterior Myocardial Infarction in a COPD Patient, Biologic Prosthetic Valve in Aortic Position, Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Mild Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction, Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Very Severe Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction in a COPD, Patient, Left Pleural Effusion, Left Ventricular Apical Aneurysm with Thrombus, Mechanical Prosthetic Valve (Bileaflet) in Aortic and Mitral Position, Mechanical Prosthetic Valve (Tilting Disk) in Mitral Position, Normal Heart in a COPD Patient, and Tamponade pathologies. 4. Cardiac Pathology Package 2 (VIM-601) -- Trains the student to address the Acute Anterior Myocardial Infarction, Acute Lateral Myocardial Infarction in a COPD Patient Aortic Valve Infective Endocarditis, Asystole, Coarse Ventricular Fibrillation, Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Very Severe Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction, Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Mild Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction in a COPD Patient, Fine Ventricular Fibrillation Pulmonary Hypertension, and Pulmonary Hypertension in a COPD Patient pathologies. 5. Cardiac Pathology Package 3 (VIM-602) -- Trains the student to address the Acute Inferior Myocardial Infarction, Acute Lateral Myocardial Infarction, Acute Right Ventricular Myocardial Infarction, Aortic Dissection - Type B, Aortic Stenosis - Valvular, Ballooning Mitral valve - two leaflets, Bicuspid Aortic Valve, Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Severe Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction, Myxoma, and Right Pleural Effusion pathologies. 6. Cardiac Pathology Package 4 (VIM-603) -- Trains the student to address the Acute Inferior and Right Ventricular Myocardial Infarction with Ventricular Septal Defect, Acute Inferior Myocardial Infarction with Right Ventricular Myocardial Infarction, Aortic Insufficiency, Atrial Septal Defect - small, Ballooning Mitral Valve, Cardiac Arrest Standstill in a COPD patient, Coronary Artery Disease - Wall Motion Abnormalities in the 3 Coronary Territories, Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Moderate Biventricular Systolic Dysfunction, Left Atrial Appendage Thrombus, Thrombus in Transit Patent Foramen Ovale pathologies. ACQUISITION APPROACH: The contract will be issued on a Sole Source basis in accordance with Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as cited in Federal Regulation Acquisition (FAR) 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government intends to award a contract to CAE Healthcare Inc. 6300 Edgelake Dr. Sarasota, FL, 34240. NOTICE: This notice is being provided to verify that no other sources can meet this requirement given the Government's required delivery schedule to meet the current need for these items.
