Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Vaisala Inc. for Ceilometer Window Conditioners for Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) for the NOAA National Weather Service located in Silver Spring, MD. A Sources Sought notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on July 12, 2016 and closed on July 20, 2016. No responses were received. Justification for Sole Source This procurement is for the purchase of equipment for the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) Sky Condition sensor to be awarded to the only known source of supply. The ceilometers are considered intellectual property of the vendor and is proprietary. This procurement will provide logistical spares for this item for the National Logistics Support Center’s (NLSC) National Reconditioning Center.
