- Attachment 2: WHO Recommended Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets Attachment 1: WHO Specifications THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY! The Peace Corps seeks a vendor to provide mosquito nets for Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) at posts located in 70 countries. PCVs are typically placed in rural environments, often at a considerable distance from the Peace Corps main office and medical unit in-country. Ambulatory healthcare is delivered in the medical unit, along with routine exams, patient education, and preventative care. Part of preventative care is education about mosquito-borne diseases and personal protective measures. The mosquito bed nets will be used by PCVs at their local residential sites to independently prevent mosquito and other insect bites and, as a result, mosquito-borne illnesses and other disease transmitted through these vectors. This Sources Sought is being issued under the following codes: Classification Code: 83, Textiles, Leather, Furs, Apparel & Shoe Findings, Tents & Flags PSC: 8340, Tents and Tarpaulins NAICS: 339999 SUPPLY SPECIFICATIONS Responses to this announcement must provide detailed information about the company's capability to provide mosquito bed nets as described in this document. The Agency requires PCVs mosquito nets that comply with World Health Organization (WHO) standards and are durable, reliable, and portable. Submitted capabilities statements must address the following: 1. The mosquito nets shall comply with the standards outlined in World Health Organization (WHO) Specifications and Evaluations for Public Health Pesticides (See Attachment #1) and WHO Recommended Long-lasting Insecticidal Nets (See Attachment #2) with the exception of mesh size/strength, which shall meet the following: minimum 100 denier fine mesh with at least six (6) holes per cm2. 2. The mosquito nets are required in two (2) sizes, single and double, as listed below: Size Dimensions 1. Single A minimum of 39.3" wide by 78.7" long and 78.7" high. 2. Double A minimum of 86.6" wide by 78.7" long and 78.7" high. 3. The mosquito nets shall be provided in two (2) colors: green and white. 4. The mosquito nets shall be ordered in minimum lots of 500 per mesh gauge, size, and color. The supplier shall ship the mosquito nets in quantities from one (1) to five hundred (500) to Peace Corps (Linden Resources/Fulfillment Center), 13882 Redskin Drive Herndon, VA 20171. Delivery vehicles shall be equipped with a lift gate to accommodate off-loading of the supplies. Shipment will be at no additional cost to the Peace Corps. Each mosquito net must be packaged individually, and appropriately labeled. 5. The contractor shall provide a warranty on all deliverables for a minimum of 24 months. 6. All shipment shall conform to the following: • Domestic and International Shipping fees are the responsibility of the contractor. • All overseas customs declarations shall be clearly stated. • All overseas customs fees and costs shall be the responsibility of the contractor. • All overseas shipments shall have a tracking number. • All overseas shipments shall be fully insured up to the value stated on the customs declaration. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. Any information that the responder considers proprietary should be clearly marked as such. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned, including any proprietary information. Any proprietary information must be properly marked. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. The response to this notice shall not exceed five (5) pages. All responses must be submitted electronically to the Contract Specialist identified below and be received no later than August 25, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET).
