Description

Brand Name Only Justification The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) intends to issue a sole source, brand name only purchase order to Smiths Detection for the acquisition of HI-SCAN 100100V X-ray system. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), vendors that feel they can meet the Government's requirements detailed above may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1(c) the justification is attached with this notice. The acquisition will be conducted through the FAR Part 13 "Simplified Acquisition Procedures." The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 561621, Security Systems Services (Except Locksmiths). The business size standard is $20,500,000. This business is not a Small Business. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotation. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) is not available. Closing date for submitting a capability statement is August 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. All submissions should be submitted electronically to Morgan.R.Hairston@usdoj.gov.
